The Heart to Give

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. - Proverbs 19:17 NIV
This proverb is a divinely ordained rule and an outstanding investment advice. Giving financial help to the needy is equivalent to making a debt to the Lord. There is no question that He will compensate us with high interest and abundant blessings. Proverbs 14:21 says, “Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.”
The poor are in the heart of God that He has attached blessings and punishment to those who will consider and help them. However, we should not be motivated to give because of the blessings God has promised to those who give. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).
God can lavish blessings in such a way that we are prepared for anything and everything, rather than merely doing what needs to be done. He gives us something we can give away, and it grows into good lives, strong in God and affluent in every way, allowing us to be generous in every way and bringing great acclaim to God with us.
Let us give generously!
