The Lord is our Keeper

Read Isaiah 27 

What a very encouraging promise to know that God is our keeper. Psalm 121 also says, “He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand.” 

There are people who do not believe that God is a loving and powerful God because evil and pain is everywhere. Is God not powerful enough to defeat evil? Or is He not good enough to allow painful things to happen? God allows pain in our life, not to break us but to strengthen our faith and make us more like Jesus. God knows because He is very involved in our life. He knows what is best for us that is why sometimes he doesn’t keep us from the pain, rather, he enables us to survive the suffering by giving us wisdom and courage. 

What we are experiencing now is only temporary. Let us not forget that the Lord will guide us continually and satisfy our desire in scorched places and make our bones strong; and we shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail (Isaiah 58:11).
