The More You Trust God, the More He Amazes You!

At mass on New Year’s Eve, I arrived early and as I was in prayer, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper, “Keep trying, you will get it right. You only fail if you stop trying.” I was in deep thought over a particular issue, and this brought an immediate smile to my face. Prior to church, I saw posted on social media, “The more you trust God, the more He amazes you.” So here I am ready to celebrate the Eucharist at St. Paul’s in New Middletown, Ohio.
The congregation was very warm and inviting. Fr. Zeigler is a dynamic priest filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. He spoke of his New Year’s resolve to be more like Jesus. He candidly shared his flaws and shortcomings and with great conviction declared, “I resolve to be more like Jesus: loving, forgiving and full of the peace of Christ.” As I was caught up in the Spirit, I proclaimed, “Amen.” He repeated his resolve again with even more vigor and conviction and we all boldly proclaimed, “Amen.”
On my way out of church, I noticed copies of “Life is Messy” by Mathew Kelly available as a gift. All gifts are meant to be share…another signal of grace, indeed.
Here I am Lord, I have come to do your will!
