December 2, 2020 Daily Devotion
Read Psalm 29
How’s your week going so far?
Time indeed flies so fast. It’s already December! I’ve been seeing posts of people who want to end 2020 because, for them, there’s nothing good that happened this year. A lot might have been in a long and striving season this year. In Psalm 29, the psalmist explains the strength of a storm and understands it as the power and voice of God. The psalmist also repeated the name of the LORD eighteen times to praise God.
We don’t like storms in our lives. The connotation of storm and flood to us is something that will bring harm and destruction. The power of God may come or may be seen as a destructive storm upon creation, yet it is also the same power that God gives to strengthen His people during the storm. We can always have confidence that God will bless us, His people, with peace, and His power comes to us as a relief, not a hurricane.
We can hold on to the truth that whatever seasons may bring us, we can always have the strength to overcome with God’s new mercies every day and His abundant grace.
In every storm, God is there.
