The Rabbit or The Turtle

The race is not to the swift. Ecclesiastes 9:11
I enjoy bike riding along rapid creek in our community. Recently, the Holy Spirit prompted me to take a loop around one of our city ponds. As I peered into the water, along the shore were 3 turtles sunning on rocks. As they saw me approach, they scampered into the water. The turtle has a spirit totem of wisdom, patience, and perseverance. Unlike the blades of grass that grow quickly but also die quickly, the turtle teaches us that we should plod along with God in wisdom and pace.
In the final verses of Ecclesiastes, we read, “The last word, when all is heard: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is man’s all; because God will bring to judgment every work, with all its hidden qualities, whether good or bad.”
What kind of race are you running?
