The Suffering Servant
Today's Daily Devotion - April 8, 2021

He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. - Isaiah 53:7
Read Isaiah 53:1-9
Would you believe if I say that Jesus knows what you are going through right now? That he knows the pain of being rejected and left behind, the feeling of agony, the feeling of being treated harshly, and the injustice. He knows because He went through all those. Isaiah 53 says, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces, he was despised, and we held him in low esteem (v. 2,3).
We can always come to Him and lay all our concerns to Him. Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear (Isaiah 59:1). He is familiar with our situation. Through a suffering servant, Jesus Christ, our relationship with God has been restored. Jesus needs to go through suffering, as a great substitute, for our sins. If Jesus sacrificed His life to intercede for our reconciliation with God, what else is He not willing to do for us?
Jesus desires to carry the load you are carrying right now.
