To Be Filled With All the Fullness of God

Christ’s love is something worth knowing. Can we truly grasp the breadth, length, depth, and height of God’s love? His love is so vast that it encompasses everyone in the universe. It’s long enough to last the rest of time. His love for us is deep enough to reach out to us and forgive us. It’s also high enough to bring us all to heaven. God wants us to know about his love, but he also wants us to experience it in our lives.

In Adam Clarke’s commentary, he said, “To be FILLED with God is a great thing; to be filled with the FULLNESS of God is still greater; but to be filled with ALL the fullness of God utterly bewilders the sense and confounds the understanding.” We can experience life in Christ Jesus by desiring to have a growing and intimate relationship with him. It is impossible to experience the fullness of God in our life if we are distant from him. Jesus doesn’t want to just visit in our life as a stranger. He desires to make a permanent home in our hearts so that we might grow mature in our faith and become more like him.

Every day, we must decide. It is a choice between experiencing life in Jesus Christ and living our lives independently of him. May we choose to fill ourselves with Jesus, trusting that he who started a good work in us will see it through.
