Transformed Into Christ Image - Daily Devotion

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;  2 Corinthians 4:8 NIV

Read 2 Corinthians 4:7-12

My Leadership Group friends and I just gathered virtually for our monthly fellowship. Our leader wanted to know how far we’d come in the year 2022. Almost everyone said it was difficult because we had contracted COVID-19 at the start of the year. We shared about our COVID-19 journey. For some of us, the illness had an effect not just the physical health, but also the emotional and mental well-being. The beginning of our year was anticlimactic.

We ended our meeting with God’s word from Hebrews 4:12. It says, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” The truth of God’s word can go down to the very heart of who we are. God’s message is also active and living. It reveals who we are and convicts us of our wrongdoings—it can transform us from within. In all of our adversity, his word also comforts us.

We shall face difficulties in this life. We are transformed into Christ’s image because we believe in the truthfulness and power of God’s Word. As a result, we have faith, hope, and endurance as we face life’s problems. We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken (2 Corinthians 4:8 MSG).

In Christ, we are overcomers!
