Wait For It

Things sometimes have to get worse before they can get better. Before coming to his senses and returning to his father, the prodigal son had to go hungry and live like pigs. Even though Babylon is incomparably more wicked than Judah, God used Babylon to punish his own people, Judah.

Regardless of how chaotic outside circumstances may get, we must and should trust God. God has called us, like Habakkuk, to live by faith. We shall face affliction in this world, but we should put our trust in Him who is loyal to rescue His people and truthful to His word. He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in our lives by carrying out his plans and intentions at the proper time. Sometimes, suffering takes a longer time before it fully ends. But knowing the true nature of God, his sovereignty, his love, and his mercy, we can continue to anchor our hope that the best is yet to come. We only have to wait and to believe in him.
