We Need God In Our Life

I believe we all have a tendency to rely on ourselves. Even us Christians are susceptible to the temptation of overconfidence in our abilities, energy, skills, and effort. The world encourages self-sufficiency and teaches us to rely on ourselves rather than others, including God.

Putting one’s trust in God leads to a more abundant life. He created us to be completely reliant on Him. Setting Him before us is a choice. It is a decision to put ourselves aside and admit that we need Him in our lives. David put God first in His life. He resolved God would always be his main focus, his point of view. If we, like David, put God first in our lives and focus on Him, any life challenges or persecution will not move us. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken (Psalm 62:6).
