For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. 2 Corinthians 5:10
Recently, my Uncle Ed went to his heavenly home with his family by his side. I spoke with my cousin a few days after his death, and he shared this “holy moment” with me. Apparently, Uncle Ed was only able to respond “yes” or “no” the last 6 months of his life. While the family and hospice nurse were gathered around him and moments before his last breath, he clearly recited the Lord’s prayer, not only once, but with an encore performance, a second time. Needless to say, there was not a dry eye amongst the group. In her decades of work, the hospice nurse never witnessed something this spectacular.
Indeed, Uncle Ed was resting in the arms of Jesus. What a powerful signal of grace that Jesus gave to those gathered. We serve a powerful, awesome, loving, kind, and forgiving God. All doubt was removed, if existed, on Uncle Ed’s final resting place.
The power of love is God!
