The old has gone and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). We all declared and believed in this truth when we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Another truth is that our redemption does not instantly change the world, our circumstances, our struggles, nor our bad habits. Yes, our problems will still be there and the issues we are dealing with will still be there. Having Jesus in our life will not exempt us from the problems of life but it will make us stronger to stand still. It will make us experience and enjoy His peace while going through different storms.
As we desire God more, our confidence in what He can do and how He can move in our life will also grow. We may not see changes in our situation but God changes our hearts little by little to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Him. Our spiritual journey is not a one-sided relationship, it is a partnership with God. He can and would love to change us and be like Jesus but we should first surrender to His plans and allow Him to refine us.
Through any trouble we experience, Jesus lives in us.
