What Is the Object Of Our Faith?

The apostles said to the Lord, increase our faith (that trust and confidence that spring from our belief in God). — Luke 17:5 (AMPC)
How can our faith increase? We sometimes ask God to increase our faith. The humility to ask God for faith is a good start, but faith does not come from prayer alone. Small acts of obedience help us grow in trust. When we act in trust, we see God’s faithfulness, which strengthens our faith in Him. Our faith gets deeper and stronger as we go through life.
The disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith and Jesus answered them, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you (Luke 17:6).” What kind of faith we have is more important that how much faith we have. Faith that is as small as a mustard seed can accomplish great things if we place the faith in a great and mighty God. Let’s have a heart check and ask ourselves what is the object of our faith.
Lord, help me abide in you.
