Who is Your Lord? - Daily Devotion

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved — Romans 10:9

Bible Reading Romans 10

Who is your Lord?

Declaring “Jesus is our Lord” verbally gives visible proof of our inner faith. This shows that in our hearts, we believe in Jesus’ sin-bearing death on the cross, as well as His resurrection. With the mouth, he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation (v. 10).

Making Jesus our Lord and Savior are more than simply a verbal confession of faith or a bumper sticker; we should also reflect it in our life. This entails enabling Jesus to enter EVERY aspect of our lives—our thoughts, careers, relationships, finances, and everything else—daily. Most of the sins we struggle with are lordship concerns. We call God our Lord, but we do not choose to surrender all to Him. Most of the time, we still base our natural reactions on our flesh.

God promises that whoever believes in Him [whoever adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] will not be disappointed [in his expectations] (v. 11 AMP). Through the help of the Holy Spirit, let us submit to God’s righteousness. Jesus Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes (v. 4).

Allow Jesus to rule over every aspect of our lives.
