Who Then Can Be Saved?

But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” —Luke 18:27, NKJV
Jesus used a rich man’s grief as an opportunity to teach His followers and anyone else who would listen about riches and the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God (vv. 24-25).”
Riches can make us satisfied with our lives rather than looking forward to the greater glory that awaits us after we leave this world. Riches can be a hindrance to God’s kingdom if the heart of the owner is in the wrong place. So the people who heard Jesus asked, “Who then can be saved (vv. 26)?”
Nothing is impossible with God. If the rich man chooses to put God first rather than his wealth, God’s grace is sufficient to save him. God’s desire is for us to spend eternity with Him, but the power to choose is ours. Today, God has given us a second chance to choose His kingdom above the riches of this world. Which choice will you select?
Life is a blink of an eye compared to eternity. Choose wisely.
