Why God Will Not Abandon You

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” - Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV

Read Deuteronomy 31:1-8

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed (Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV). Read this scripture several times. Then quiet your mind and take a long breath, inhaling love and slowly exhaling gratitude through your mouth. What a wonderful sense of security it gives us to know that God will never abandon us. We can find this reassuring reminder throughout the Bible. It is God’s promise to us because of his unconditional love.

Remember His promise whenever fear tries to creep into your situation. You’re not on your own. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Josh. 1:9 ESV). Because He loves and cares for you, He will always remain by your side. His love isn’t conditional on what you’ve done for Him. Don’t let the noise of fear and uncertainty undermine your faith. “What then shall we say to these things?” says Romans 8:31. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” So don’t be afraid!

God is a faithful God. He will not abandon us because He doesn’t want to give up on us. He made us for Him, so that we could have fellowship with Him. God wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:4). He’s not finished with us yet—he wants us to fully acknowledge the truth of His Word. He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Phil. 1:6).

Remember, God will not abandon you.
