You Healed Me

Today's Daily Devotion - May 14 2022

By Dr. George J. Ceremuga

Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. Psalm 30:2

A year ago, I attended a morning daily mass at another church. The priest was limping into the mass. He explained he woke up early that morning with a leg cramp and was contemplating on taking a muscle relaxer. He decided against this as he would not be in a condition to preside over the mass. The Holy Spirit encouraged me to approach him after mass and to offer a prayer of healing. I approached the priest and introduced myself and ask if I could invite the congregation forward so we could lay hands of healing on him and pray over him.

With his permission, I called on the Lord for help and offered a prayer of healing in the name of Jesus Christ. Others placed hands over him as we poured on the power of the living water through the Holy Spirit. Then, recently, I saw this priest at a diocesan event. He asked me, “Where have you been?” I smiled and replied, “I get to sleep in now and go to noon mass.” The Holy Spirit, then prompted me to ask him, “how long did it take for Jesus to heal you after our hands on prayer. He smiled, “Three hours.” He shared this act of healing through the love of Jesus Christ with his congregation. I smiled and looked up to heaven, “Indeed, that was you Jesus.”
