You Reap What You Sow

In the spring many of us are eager to plant our gardens. With much anticipation we prepare the soil and tend to our plot of land in hopes of an abundant harvest. I am reminded that the day we plant the seed is not the day we harvest the fruit. Patience is the compliment to wisdom. We are like our heavenly Father. He has carefully chosen us and laid out his plans for us even before we were born.

Now, when He looks at us, He eagerly anticipates the work He will do in our lives and the fruit that we will bear. God is well aware of the hard paths, rocky ground, or thorns that are in our hearts. He knows all of our challenges, insecurities, and distractions in our lives. He is patient, kind, and merciful. Above all, He is confident that our hearts will become more fertile.
