God’s Grace and Our Humility

Today’s Daily Devotion

By Khai Samante

Have you ever struggled with pride or arrogance? Have you ever thought too highly of yourself or looked down on others? Pride is a dangerous and destructive sin that can ruin our relationship with God and others. It can make us forget our need for God and his grace. Pride can make us resist his will and his correction, as well as make us ignore his gifts and his purpose for us.

God calls us to humility, which is the opposite of pride. Humility is a realistic and honest view of ourselves and our dependence on God. It is a grateful and faithful response to God’s grace and his gifts. Humility is a willing and obedient submission to God’s will and his plan for us.

God’s grace and our humility go hand in hand. The more we realize how much God has done for us, the more we will humble ourselves before him. The more we humble ourselves before him, the more we will receive his grace and his gifts. Let us thank God for saving us by faith in Christ and giving us a new life in him.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Romans 12:3

Lord, thank you for your grace and your gifts. Help me to be humble before you and others. Amen
