Hail, Full Of Grace!

Today’s Daily Devotion – December 22 2022

By Dr. George J. Ceremuga

“I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.”

— Luke 1:19

On December 8th we celebrated the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The angel Gabriel in Hebrew means, “God is my strength.” Each time the angel Gabriel is mentioned in the Bible it is in the role of a messenger. Thus, Gabriel is a good and holy angel of God who stands in God’s presence, and he was chosen by God to deliver important messages to at least three of God’s faithful (Daniel, Zechariah, and Mary) including the birth and name of God’s Son.

Mary was the first to experience the fruits that Jesus’ sacrifice would make available to each of us. Even though she was full of grace, she was not immune to the pain and suffering of life. Instead, she let God’s grace guide how she responded to her circumstances and trusted in him. May we allow God’s grace to guide us in our thoughts, words, and actions to prepare us to say “yes” all for the glory of God!

The Lord is with thee…
