Psalm 5:7 Daily Devotion

His Dwelling Place

Today’s Daily Devotion

By Khai Samante

God told Moses in Exodus 25:8-9, “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.” God wants the tabernacle to be His dwelling place among the Israelites. In the New Testament, it says in John 1:14, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” God’s glory was revealed in the Old Testament temple, and He revealed His glory in the New Testament through Jesus Christ, who “tabernacled” among us.

To say “God loves us” does not seem adequate to describe His feelings for us. God’s love for us is both abundant and constant. His love was most visibly displayed on the cross. By offering Himself as the Lamb of God, Jesus, the perfect and final high priest, opened the way into God’s presence for all who come through Him! Because of Jesus Christ, we not only have unlimited access to the temple, but our bodies have also been transformed into God’s temple.

Today, God calls us to serve as His temple.

But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you.
Psalm 5:7

Thank you, God, for your abundant and steadfast love.
