Acts 3:6 (NIV) Daily Devotion Scripture

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” — Acts 3:6 (NIV)

For how many years had a lame man been carried and laid at the Beautiful Gate to beg alms from those entering the temple? When the man noticed Peter and John about to enter the temple, he approached them and asked for alms. And Peter turned to face the man and said, “Look at us.” The man assumed they were about to give him some coins, but what they gave him was worth more than money. Peter told him, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up. The man’s feet and ankles were immediately made strong.

God intervened in the lame man’s situation through Peter and John, and he was instantly healed. The man could leap and praise God because of this miracle. But the miracle that occurred not only provided physical healing, but also revealed who God is. God is more than just a miraculous and powerful being. He is also a loving father who knows our struggles, hears our prayers, and cares for us. God reveals himself to us through miracles so that the rest of the world can know who he is.
