Hebrews 10:7 Daily Devotion

Pick Me, Lord

Jesus made it clear that what He desires is mercy and not sacrifice. The Lord delights in our obedience to do His will. As in Micah 6:8, the Lord requires us to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. In Hebrews 10, Paul reminds us that in animal sacrifices there is only a yearly remembrance of sins, for it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats take away sins.

For this reason, sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you took no delight. Then, I said, as written of me in the scroll, behold, I come to do your will, O God. He takes away the first to establish the second. By this “will” we have been consecrated through the offerings of the Body of Jesus Christ once and for all.

Behold, I come to do your will, O God.
