Remain In Him…

Today’s Daily Devotion – January 5 2023

1 John: 2-28 Daily Devotion Scripture

And now children, remain in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be put to shame by him at his coming. — 1 John 2:28

When John urges us to “remain” in Christ, he isn’t telling us to stay put. There is a broader meaning than just sitting still. It also means to “make your abode” with Jesus Christ. In essence, John is encouraging us to find our home, our place of belonging, with the Lord. Jesus can become our place of refuge and rest from our labors. He can become our source of restoration and refreshment when we feel anxious, overwhelmed and empty.

We are blessed that we can abide in Jesus on earth as we allow Him to dwell in our heart. He is waiting to share his mercy, compassion, love and forgiveness and nourish you with the Bread of Life. Close your eyes and imagine gathered at the table with Jesus and his disciples. Enjoy this intimate connection and time to connect with Jesus. As you draw close to Jesus in prayer, you’ll find His presence with you throughout the day experiencing pure peace in the presence of Jesus Christ.

And He will remain in you!
