The Resurrected Christ!

For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous.

1 Peter 3:18

We are so blessed that our Jesus loved us so much that he paid the penalty for our sins on the cross “that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit; in which he went and preached to the spirits in prison, who had once been disobedient while God patiently waited in the days of Noah during the building of the ark” (VV.19-20).

As the flood called for God to be patient while Noah completed and filled the ark, so baptism calls for God to be patient with us as we journey toward forgiveness of sins in baptism and a deeper call to conversion during the Lenten season. And knowing of God’s faithfulness and patient mercy in the covenant forged with Noah, we have assurance that our appeal to the Lord for mercy in the sacraments of forgiveness (baptism and penance) will be fulfilled.

Jesus sits at the right hand of God!
