Time Is Running Out

For the world in its present form is passing away.

1 Corinthians 7:31

Over 2000 years ago, the apostle Paul was shaking things up. He warned us that time is running out and Jesus second coming imminent. In 1 Corinthians 7:29-31, he warns us that we should live out our Christian identity with this eschatological attitude. Paul is speaking rhetorically and not literally in the verses below. We are to live out our marriages as God intended, weep in moments of grief, yet focus on salvation rather than on materialism: For the world in its present form is passing away.

“I tell you brothers and sisters, the time is running out. From now on, let those having wives act as not having them, those weeping as not weeping, those rejoicing, those buying as not owning, those using the world as not using it fully. For the world in its present form is passing away.”

Life is precious, live it now!
