Matthew 16:15-16 Daily Devotion | July 11 2023

Who Do You Say Jesus Is?

Today’s Daily Devotion

July 11, 2023

By Khai Samante

When Jesus asked Peter who he was, Peter replied, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus then disclosed to Peter that his response was not based on his own thoughts and understanding, but on divine inspiration from the Lord.

Who is Jesus Christ to you?

Some of us may consider Jesus to be a friend, miracle worker, provider, healer, or promise keeper. However, Jesus transcends those labels. He is the Christ, our Messiah, and the Son of God.

Jesus is the long-awaited Savior prophesied in the Old Testament. He is the way, the truth, and the life. He offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins to anyone who repents and believes in Him. Jesus is reaching out to us. He longs for us to recognize Him as the true source of life and salvation.

God became a man in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Son of God, and He is God Himself. His resurrection validates His claim to be God’s Son in a unique way. When we confess our faith that Jesus is the Son of God, we share in the love that the Father has for the Son, becoming adopted children of God.

Who do you say Jesus is? I pray for God’s divine revelation about who Jesus is to be upon you. May you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Matthew 16:15-16

Lord, help me experience the transformative power of your love and grace in my life.
