Psalm 3:7 beautifully captures the heartfelt plea of King David as he sought refuge and deliverance from his enemies. In this short verse, David acknowledges that his ultimate source of strength and salvation is God Himself. David’s faith in God’s unwavering protection and assistance is a shining example for us to follow.
Like David, we face our own battles and struggles in life. We encounter foes that seek to discourage us, obstacles that threaten to overwhelm us, and challenges that seem insurmountable. But even in the face of such adversities, we can turn to God as our refuge and helper. He is our ever-present help in times of trouble, our steadfast rock when the ground beneath us trembles.
We can have confidence that when we call upon the Lord, He arises to fight our battles on our behalf. Just as He empowered David to triumph over his enemies, God is ready and willing to equip us for every battle we face. We can rest assured that His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
“Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.”
Psalm 3:7 (NIV)
Let us confidently cry out to God, “Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God!”
