Just Believe!

My Lord and my God.

John 20:28

The trauma of Jesus’ passion and death was just too much for Thomas toprocess. As a result, he remained isolated in a state of unbelief when theother disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord” (John 20:25). Thomas spenta whole week at odds with the other disciples, trapped under a shroud ofhopelessness and despair. But then came the next Sunday and Jesusappeared again, this time with Thomas present. Jesus treated Thomas withgreat mercy and invited him to touch and see for himself that he truly hadrisen from the dead. Thomas now “Believed” and exclaimed, “My Lord and myGod.” That encounter ignited the fire within Thomas who would take the gospel toIndia where he was martyred by a spear. This Jesus whom Thomas met that day is the same Jesus who comes to you today to speak words of hope and encouragement. So still your heart and listen to his voice…
