Make Justice Your Aim!

Wash yourselves clean!

Isaiah 1:16

Speaking through the prophet Isaiah around 740 BC, God confronted the people of Jerusalem branding their Temple sacrifices as “worthless” and “loathsome” and evening refused to listen to their prayers (Isaiah 1:10, 13, 15). The problem wasn’t the sacrifices and prayers but the hypocrisy of injustices against the poor and vulnerable. Fast forward to 2024 and many might level the same sentiment on the atrocities committed by the evil forces within the Holy Land.

Our sins offend God because we are ignoring his children’s needs. It hurts God to see his beloved children suffering while many in the world look the other way. Remember, all we need to fix the world is to love one another! Let us wash ourselves clean as His mercy are higher than the heavens and more powerful than any sin. God’s inspired words are full of hope: “Make justice your aim” (1:17).
