Weeds and Wheat.

Let them grow together until harvest.

Matthew 13:30

In the weeds and wheat parable, Jesus teaches us how our heavenly Father looks at us and at the growth of the kingdom of God. God is patient–like the landowner in the parable and is willing to wait to uproot the weeds as He draws His people to repentance. God does not want to risk losing even one “wheat” plant. God trusts the wheat to thrive amidst the competition from the the weeds.

God will separate the weeds from the wheat at harvest. Just as the farmer eventually does make that separation, so God will judge each one of us. While He permits sin and evil to exist, he does not ignore or approve of it. For all humanity, there are consequences to our words and actions. Our God is merciful, patient, kind, compassionate and a just Judge.

All praise and honor to our Lord, Jesus Christ!
