As Brothers In Christ – We Hug!

Today’s Daily Devotion

August 4, 2023

By Dr. George J. Ceremuga

At my prison ministry, I am blessed to share the gospel with some of the same men week to week. We greet each other with a handshake and a hug. One of the Corrections Officer outside of our designated meeting room informed me that hugging prisoners was not allowed. Well, that did not stop us once we were inside our meeting room. As brothers in Christ- we hug!

The week prior, we prayed for 3 prisoners that had upcoming court dates. We rejoiced and exclaimed “Hallelujia” when informed 2 of the 3 prisoners charges were dropped and they were released! We reminded one another that prayer is and will always be the best medicine. We quoted, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has sent me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and to set free the oppressed” (V18).

He has sent me to set the captives free.
Luke 4:18

When you ask big things of God, it is a compliment!
