Compassionate Course Correction

He vigorously refuted the Jews in public, establishing from the Scriptures that the Christ is Jesus.

Acts 18:28

Apollos was a Jew from Alexandria who was an eloquent speaker and an authority on the scripture instructed in the way of the Lord arrived in Ephesus. He was charismatic with an ardent spirit, spoke and taught accurately about Jesus, although he only knew of the baptism of John. He spoke boldly in the synagogue; he was taken aside by Priscilla and Aquila to help him refine his message.

What impresses me about Apollos is that he was teachable. He yearned to follow the ways of Jesus Christ and he was open to compassionate course correction. Apollos desired to be more like Jesus and valued the mentorship of his new friends. After his tutorials were completed, he traveled to Achaia and was of great assistance to those who had come to believe through grace. He vigorously refuted the Jews in public, establishing from the Scriptures that the Christ is Jesus.
