God Loves the Children!

Matthew 1:5

We know how special children are to Jesus. Jesus expects us to train them in peace and love. Mathew’s gospel brings to light Jesus’ special relationship with the children: “Children were brought to Jesus that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked him, but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” After he placed his hands on them, he went away (Mathew 19:13-15).

Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? He called a little child to him and placed the child among them. And he said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me” (Matthew 18:1-5).
