Good Friday

Their guilt he shall bear.

Isaiah 53:11

Happy Birthday Dad in your heavenly home. We love and miss you.

The Servant Songs in the book of Isaiah were written six centuries before Christ and clearly prophesy Jesus and his mission. The prophet Isaiah says: “See, my servant shall prosper, he shall be raised high and greatly exalted. Even as many were amazed at him—so shall he startle many nations” (Isaiah 52:13). The servant song sums up what Jesus would accomplish by his passion and death: “Through his suffering, my servant shall justify many, and their guilt he shall bear (53:11).

Yes, Jesus willingly bore our guilt. He even bore the guilt of the very people who were complicit in his arrest, trial and crucifixion. He healed the one who arrested him, he kissed the one who betrayed him and he forgave the people who crucified him. That’s my JESUS! That is the message of the cross; not only on Good Friday but every day. You are loved. You are forgiven. You are redeemed.

By His Holy Cross He has redeemed the World!
