Honor Your Father And Mother!
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Ephesians 6:1
The apostle Paul nails it with Ephesians chapter 6. It is a discourse on how to treat one another as made in the image of God. Honor your father and mother is not a suggestion but a commandment. “This is the first commandment with a promise, that it may go well with you, and you may have a long life on earth. Fathers do not provoke your children to anger but bring them up with the training and instruction of the Lord” (VV.1-4).
Paul then reminds masters and slaves to be fair and humane to one another doing the will of God from their heart for they have a Master in heaven that with Him there is no partiality.
This is not a suggestion but a commandment!
