Justice, Mercy, and Humility

Feliz Cumpleanos Hermano en Cristo. Today, my younger brother is blessed to enjoy another year around the sun. Indeed, it was a year full of blessings and the best is yet to come! In 1 Samuel 15:16-23, Samuel reprimands Saul for disobeying God. Samuel said, “Does the Lord so delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obedience to the command of the Lord? Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission that the fat of rams. For a sin like divination is rebellion, and presumption is the crime of idolatry. Because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he, too, has rejected you as ruler” (V.22-23).

The order of Charity at work again. Love God and obey his commandments. Another one of my favorite verses to remind me of the order of Charity is Micah 6: 8: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Indeed, brother, the best is yet to come!
