Living for God in Jesus Christ

Today’s Daily Devotion

May 10, 2023

By Dr. George J. Ceremuga

We are approaching Pentecost and the reminder from Easter is that we serve a “resurrected” Christ who lives for the glory of God. The world is witnessing an outpouring of the Holy Spirit as we, too, must think of ourselves as being dead to sin and living for the glory of God in Christ Jesus. The empty cross reminds us that Jesus, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, is our redeemer. Confidently, approach the Cross and drop all your sins, baggage and brokenness with a contrite heart and rejoice in the liberation that death no longer has power over us.

If we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him. We know that Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has power over Him. As to His death, He died to sin once and for all, as to His life, He lives for God. Consequently, you too must think of yourselves as being dead to sin and living for God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:8-11
