Pray, Hope, And Don’t Worry

He will keep you firm to the end.

1 Corinthians 1:8

At a recent Cursillo men’s group meeting, I shared that in my experience at the county jail, those gathered in the name of Jesus Christ were unified across all colors and ethnicities. Our community is rich in diversity affording us the privilege to accept one another as made in the image of God. During my “holy hour” with these men, they treated one other as a brother in Christ.

The apostle Paul warned the Corinthians about divisions and rivalries and encouraged them to overcome these differences coming together in unity with Christ. We are all created with different gifts and temperaments. As differences arise keep asking for the grace to be patient and pray for those who may oppose or malign you. And when you find yourself tempted to give up, stay focused on the Lord and persevere. “Jesus will keep you firm to the end.”
