The glory of God!

Today’s Daily Devotion – September 26 2022

By Dr. George J. Ceremuga

Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man! — Luke 5:8

Peter knew when Jesus instructed him to lower the net that yielded an abundance of fish, the man standing before Him had just revealed the glory of God. What was Peter afraid of? He witnessed Jesus preach the good news of salvation and perform this awesome miracle. Peter felt unworthy of Jesus’s love, so he feared that he might be doomed unless he could convince Jesus to “depart” from him before anything happened to him.

Jesus did not see Peter as Peter saw himself. Then Jesus said to Peter, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will be fishers of men.” Do not be afraid Jesus will condemn you for your sins. God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him (John 3:17). That includes you! Come to Jesus, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!

By his blood we have been redeemed!
