The Ancient One Took His Throne

2 Peter 1:17

The August 2024 Magnificat shares that Christ was transfigured so that he might show us the transfiguration of our nature that is to come—his second coming, for our salvation, which will be on the clouds, with the voice of archangels. For he is the one who has wrapped himself in light as a garment (Ps 104:2) since he is judge of the living and the dead (2 Tim 4:1).

For if he had remained what He was and had not become what we are—if he had not undergone the cross for our sake and purchased the world with his own blood, the saving plan of God is in vain, and the ancient words of the prophets remain unreliable.
