All of us gazing on the Lord’s glory with unveiled faces, are being transformed from glory to glory into his very image by the Lord who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18

The August 2024 Magnificat shares that “The Feast of the Transfiguration” was on August 6. It commemorates and celebrates God’s revelation. The glory of God that was veiled in the law and prophets—from Moses to Elijah—is now unveiled before the Church, to the apostles and us who receive their message.

This feast does not simply point to God who is brilliant upon a mountain. It prepares us to remain faithful to a God crucified on a mountain. We ourselves have been saved through this vision of Christ in glory and Christ on the cross and are now continually transformed both by Tabor and Calvary.
