Thousands Died For My Freedom…

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.

Acts 16:31

A few days after Memorial Day, I went grocery shopping at the Commissary on Ellsworth Air Force Base. I enjoy the cultural diversity that is part of a military community and reconnecting with my roots. I have a weekly routine of exercise at the Base Gym, mass at St. Joseph’s Chapel and stopping by and picking up some groceries. I have made many friends with the cashiers and baggers and we enjoy uplifting conversations with praise and worship.

One of the cashiers approached me prior to checking out and gave me a coin with today’s scripture verse. On the other side of the coin were “Thousands died for my freedom, and One died for my soul!” He said it was given to him 20 years ago and he wanted me to now be the guardian of this coin. This random act of kindness capped off a wonderful Holy Spirit Day in the kingdom of God.

One died for my soul!
