Wicked or Wise?

James 3:18

James 3:16-4: 3 contrast the wicked from the wise—the wicked associate with envy and selfish ambition and the wise enjoy a gift from above. The fruits of wisdom are ample, distinctive, and desirable. Wisdom begets purity, peace, gentleness, docility, mercy, goodness, consistency, and sincerity. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those who cultivate peace. Wisdom brings forth copious blessings as James writes:

Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every foul practice. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without inconstancy or insincerity (V.16-17).
