God Speaks to Us Through His Holy Spirit

Today, if you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Hebrew 3:15

Today is one of my sisters’ birthday. Happy Birthday sister! This devotion is written in her honor as she is a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. God loves to speak to sister and to each one of us and his words have power. God spoke to Adam and Eve in the garden; he told Noah to build an ark and called Abram to leave his homeland. He spoke to Moses and to the prophets and most fully through Jesus himself, the incarnate Word. And God speaks to us through His Holy Spirit.

God desires a relationship with each one of us. God calls us to obedience. The favor of God’s call is up to Him; and the obedience is up to us. Israel has repeatedly represented humanities fickle response to the voice of God. They promised to obey God’s word, but they failed to carry it out. Time after time, God proved his faithfulness by providing for their needs. God will never leave nor forsake us.
