Trust in the Lord

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5

Each Tuesday morning, I look forward to a “holy hour” with Each Day is a New Beginning prison ministry. I call prior to ensure that the cell block is open for visitors. I was informed that thirty-two inmates were being prepared for court and that attendance might be minimal. I felt the Holy Spirit’s presence encouraging me to attend. Holy Spirit wisdom was telling me that there was no way thirty-two inmates could attend court at once. It was the “systems” way to discourage spreading the gospel message of love and forgiveness. I boldly informed the correction officer that “I will be there.”

As I cultivate my sanguine personality, a charism given to me by God, I entered the cell block with a huge smile proclaiming that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. I received some interesting looks and through the power of the Holy Spirit was blessed to pack the room with men desiring to be more like Jesus.
