How We Should Live Our Christian Lives

Today’s Daily Devotion – November 3 2022

By Khai Samante

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. — Romans 12:12

How do we remain cheerfully hopeful, patient in difficult times, and devoted to prayer? These may appear to be too good to be true, but this is how we should live our Christian lives. In Jesus Christ, we can rejoice, not lose hope, patient, and faithful in prayer. We can do all of this not because we are capable, but because Jesus Christ lives within us. He is the source of our joy and hope, the one who sustains us and gives us the strength to persevere, and the rock on which our faith rests.

Going through difficult times is part of the process by which God shapes us from glory to glory. Even in the midst of adversity and uncertainty, let us fix our gaze on Jesus and allow Him to fill us up on a daily basis. Make it a habit to focus on His goodness rather than the pain and difficulty of our trial; to replace grumbling and discontent with worship and gratitude; and to talk with Jesus, our guiding light.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope (Romans 15:13).

Thank you, Jesus, for in you, we can rejoice always!
