God Caused the Growth

I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused the growth.

1 Cor 3:6

At a recent Each Day is a New Beginning prison ministry “holy hour” we talked about gaining God’s favor through the inspired word of God in Exodus 20: To love God above all and follow His commandments. As I walked into cell blocks 16 and 17, I announced the “Good News” of our Lord Jesus Christ and invited my brothers to join me in a “holy hour” to give glory, honor, and praise to Jesus Christ.

As I let my light shine, nine men joined Jesus and me in a lively discussion of repent and believe in the gospel of love and forgiveness. We started off in a prayer and unity circle, prayed for each other and our families and reminded each other that we are all made in the divine image of God. As the apostle Paul wrote, “neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who causes the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive wages in proportion to his labor” (VV.7-9).
