Who is My Mother and My Brother?

For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Matthew 12:50

At a recent “Each Day is a New Beginning” prison ministry, our topic of discussion centered around “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers? That day we were seven disciples strong witnessing to the power of love through Jesus Christ, as we shared our testimonies of God’s mercy and grace. As is customary, we reserve a seat for Jesus as we stand and open in prayer through our unity circle.

We remind one another as we look left and right, that we are made in the divine image of God…we are all equal in God’s eyes. God shows no partiality. We listened to testimony after testimony of how God found favor and mercy upon the gathered crowd reducing many of their long prison sentences to time served and probation. Indeed, it is a compliment when we ask big things of God. We thanked God for his continued favor, blessings, and mercy as we acknowledged “for whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Those who do the will of God!
