Come to Me, All You Who Are Labor And Are Burdened…

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.

Matthew 11:29

One recent day I was in tune with a plethora of graces by our God. First, God woke me up, that was His gift to me. I attended morning mass with three members of my Cursillo men’s group. Fr. Tim gave an inspiring homily on the benefits of being yoked properly “for my yoke is easy, and my burden light” (V. 30). I enjoyed watching a ladybug crawl in the grass while I was stretching before my bike ride. Doves were cooing in the early morning light and I was inspired by an adolescent entrepreneur selling lemonade. I did not carry any money with me and he was firm in not accepting an I.O.U. I guess that is a pretty good business model-cash up front!

I meditated upon Jesus’ words of encouragement: “Come to me, all you are burdened, and I will give you rest. Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to be in tune with all your signals of grace that you provide for me each day. Please always encourage me to live with an “attitude of gratitude.”
